Anacondas Newsletter #3
Hello Anacondas Families!
We’re looking forward to seeing you all at the Mock Meet on Tuesday! This will be a chance for all of our swimmers to have fun with their teammates and get to test out their skills that they all have been working hard to improve these past few weeks. The kids will be swimming all their eligible strokes, even if they are still learning some of the technique.
Here are the important updates you need for the coming week:
Intrasquad/Mock Meet
The Mock Meet will be held on Tuesday, June 4th starting at 5pm. The meet will end close to 8pm. Please declare whether you are attending or not by tonight at 11:30pm!
Swimmers arrive at: 4:30 (or as soon as possible, we know kids still have school)
Volunteers arrive at: 4:30 (or as soon as possible)
Team Picture: 5:00pm; wear your Anacondas team swimsuit or a black swimsuit
Meet format: This meet will include only individual events. Getting updated times for all of our swimmers will help the coaches build line-ups for our first meet! Every swimmer will swim every individual event (6&u will swim free, back, and breast only). We will move fast to keep within our designated time frame of ending around 8pm.
Meet order: Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly; each stroke will be swam from youngest to oldest, boys then girls of each age group. You may leave after your swimmer(s) have finished their last event (breast for 6&u, fly for everyone else).
Declaring Attendance for Meets
All meets are now open for parents to declare their swimmer’s attendance in SwimTopia. Meet sign up will close on the Friday prior to the meet at 11:59pm. No late entries will be accepted.
We need everyone to declare for each meet. Even if your swimmer cannot attend, please go into SwimTopia and select that option under the Meet Signup.
In Swimtopia, go to Meets & Events -> Signup Calendar -> Click on the Meet Entry button for each meet. You will see your swimmer(s) listed; please select whether they are Attending or Not Attending the meet and click Save.
Volunteer Signups
We have had really good engagement from our volunteers in signing up for the first few meets. Thank you! We still have a number of jobs open at Away meets and at meets later in the season. Please try to sign up for your family’s minimum of 3 jobs as soon as possible. If you need help or have questions about volunteer signups, please email us at [email protected]
TSA Clinics for Starter and Stroke & Turn Judge
For those people who are interested in volunteering as Stroke & Turn Judge and Starter, the TSA will be holding a required clinic on June 8th at Cary Park. There are also some clinic options this weekend in Raleigh. The schedule is on the TSA website here. Please plan to attend if you want to volunteer as a Judge or Starter.
