Anacondas 2025 Newsletter #3
Hello Anacondas Families!
Here are the important updates you need for the coming week:
First regular season Meet - Tuesday June 10th @ Home vs. Regency Riptides.
- Sign up your child or decline by tomorrow, Friday June 6th at 11:30pm. We cannot accept late entries for meets!
- Swimmers arrive by 4:45p to set up at their age group’s tent, warm up in the pool, & meet their kid-pusher volunteer.
- Bring goggles, refillable water bottle, sunscreen, towels, black swimsuit with Anaconda logo, food or money for concessions, a towel or small chair to sit on.
- Write the swimmer name & age on their upper right back with Sharpie marker. We will have markers at Volunteer Check-in also.
- Shift #1 volunteers check in at the Volunteer Table by 5:30 (Set-up volunteers at 4:00 & Concessions at 5:00). Shift #2 volunteers check in during backstroke since your shift begins at Breaststroke (around 7:30 or 8:00).
- Supervise your swimmer to ensure they are being safe and respectful throughout the entire meet.
- Swimmers should stay near their age group tent area as much as possible. Have your child communicate with their kid pusher if they need to leave their tent area so your swimmer doesn’t miss their time to swim. Remember that volunteers have limited ability to find swimmers who are not staying in their designated areas.
- Swimmers should not be in the recreational pool, or the small pool next to lap lanes, during the swim meet.
- Concessions - there will be pizza, Chick-fil-A sandwiches and nuggets, chips, some candy, and drinks for sale. We can accept cash (exact change preferred), Venmo, and Apple Cash. Stick Happens popsicles will be on site as well.
- Ensure your child cleans their space and gathers their belongings before leaving.
- Review meet details on our website.
Tshirts
Team tshirts and caps will be distributed at Monday's practices (during all sessions).
Anacondas Swimsuits
Please make time before Tuesday to get your black Anacondas team swimsuit from Kiefer Aquatics in Cary (919-439-8678). Team suits are required for regular season meets.
Meet Themes and Poster Decorating
Our coaches have been planning some fun activities for this season. This year we will have themes at each of our home meets. The June 10th meet will be Hawaiian Luau themed! Swimmers are encouraged to bring props, wear Leis, grass skirts, or anything to show our team spirit! Swimmers can talk to their lane coaches if they need help coming up with ideas for their spirit wear. We will be doing some poster decorating for the meet at Monday's practices (during all practice times). We could use some parents to help the kids with this activity during the 5pm and 6pm practices. Stick around the pool deck if you can help that day.
Volunteer Signups
Thank you to those of you that stopped by volunteer training during practice on Tuesday. Our final volunteer training will be held next week on Monday June 9th during all practices times.
Also thank you to all who signed up to work our first Home meet, we are fully staffed! We still have a number of jobs open at Away meets and at Home meets later this season. Please try to sign up for your family’s minimum of 3 jobs as soon as possible. If you need help or have questions about volunteer signups, please email us at [email protected]
