Anacondas 2026 Newsletter #3

Hello Anacondas Families!

Here are the important updates you need for the coming week:

First regular season Meet - Tuesday June 9th @ Olive Chapel Swim.

  • Sign up your child or decline by tomorrow, Friday June 5th at 11:30pm. We cannot accept late entries for meets!
  • Swimmers arrive by 5:00 pmto set up at their age group’s tent, warm up in the pool, & meet their kid-pusher volunteer.
  • Bring goggles, refillable water bottle, sunscreen, towels, black swimsuit with Anaconda logo, food or money for concessions, a towel or small chair to sit on.
  • Write the swimmer name & age on their upper right back with Sharpie marker. We will have markers with the Kid Pushers under the age group tents as well.
  • Shift #1 volunteers check in at the Volunteer Table at 5:00. Shift #2 volunteers check in during backstroke since your shift begins at Breaststroke (around 7:30 or 8:00).
  • Supervise your swimmer to ensure they are being safe and respectful throughout the entire meet.
  • Swimmers should stay near their age group tent area as much as possible. Have your child communicate with their kid pusher if they need to leave their tent area so your swimmer doesn’t miss their time to swim. Remember that volunteers have limited ability to find swimmers who are not staying in their designated areas.
  • Ensure your child cleans their space and gathers their belongings before leaving.
  • Review meet details on our website.

Anacondas Swimsuits

Please make time before Tuesday to get your black Anacondas team swimsuit from Kiefer Aquatics in Cary (919-439-8678). Team suits are required for regular season meets. You must visit them at the store to purchase the suit. The address is 1231 NW Maynard Road in Cary.

Volunteer Signups

Thank you to those of you that stopped by volunteer training during practice on Monday.

Also thank you to all who signed up to work our first meet. We still need two 2nd shift clerks of course, two 2nd shift timers, and one more person to help with cleaning up.

We still have a number of jobs open at Away meets and at Home meets later this season. Please try to sign up for your family’s minimum 6 points worth of jobs as soon as possible. If you need help or have questions about volunteer signups, please email us at [email protected]

Are you still looking for a volunteer opportunity? Reply to this email to learn about a 2 point role, ideally done by one family/person for the whole season, for our 3 home meets. You must have time the day after home swim meets to print, label, and sort ribbons so they can be to the visiting team by 4pm. This is a rare chance to have an air conditioned volunteer role!

Training for Starter & Stroke & Turn Judge

Reminder about the TSA clinics on Saturday June 6th at Cary Park. The schedule is on the TSA website here. Please plan to attend if you want to volunteer as a Judge or Starter.

Our coaches have been planning some fun activities for this season. This year we will have themes at each of our home meets. The themes are as follows:
