Here are the important updates you need for the coming week:
Swimmer Declarations for Meets
Reminder that you must declare your swimmer is attending a meet by the Friday night deadline. If there is no response for your swimmer in the Swimtopia signup, we will assume your swimmer is NOT participating and will NOT include them in the meet lineup. The meet signups are separate from the job signups in Swimtopia. Please make sure you are making updates to both sections for each meet.
Please note that freestyle relays may not occur until 10pm depending on the size of teams, so please keep that timing in mind. If you are not willing to stay that late, please do not mark that your swimmer is available for the free relay.
You can use the declaration section to indicate if your child is available for either relay. You can also add notes to this signup to indicate event preferences for your child. Please remember that these are preferences only - coaches decide the lineups for each swimmer, and they are trying to give children experience in ALL strokes. This includes butterfly. Emailing the team on the day of the meet to change your child's events is not good practice and causes extra work for our volunteers. Please support your swimmers in learning how to challenge themselves, get out of their comfort zone, and trust their coaches.
Volunteers Needed!
We have just one job open at next week’s meet - a 2nd shift order of finish judge. Please try to sign up for your family’s minimum of 6 points worth of jobs as soon as possible. If you need help or have questions about volunteer signups, please email us at [email protected] .
Are you still looking for a volunteer opportunity? Reply to this email to learn about a 2 point role, ideally done by one family/person for the whole season, for our 3 home meets. You must have time the day after home swim meets to print, label, and sort ribbons so they can be to the visiting team by 4pm. This is a rare chance to have an air conditioned volunteer role!
Our next Meet - Tuesday June 23rd at HOME vs Walden Creek
- Sign up your child or decline by today Friday June 19th at 11:30pm.
- HAWAIIAN LUAU THEME! Wear flower necklaces, straw skirts, or any other on theme accessory!!
- Swimmers arrive by 4:45p to set up at their age group’s tent, warm up in the pool, & meet their kid-pusher volunteer.
- Shift #1 volunteers check in at the Volunteer Table by 5:30 (Set-up volunteers at 4:00 & Concessions at 5:00). Shift #2 volunteers check in during backstroke since your shift begins at Breaststroke (around 7:30 or 8:00).
- Tuesday is going to be a scorcher! Please be prepared and instruct your swimmers to stay hydrated and in the shade as much as possible between swims.
- Bring goggles, refillable water bottle, sunscreen, towels, black swimsuit with Anacondas logo, food or money for concessions, a towel or small chair to sit
- Please write the swimmers name on their upper right back with a Sharpie marker. We will have markers at Volunteer Check-in also.
- Supervise your swimmer to ensure they are being safe and respectful throughout the entire meet. The recreational pool and shallow end on the side of the lap pool are CLOSED to swimmers during the meet.
- Swimmers should stay near their age group tent area as much as possible. Have your child communicate with their kid pusher if they need to leave their tent area so your swimmer doesn’t miss their time to swim. Remember that volunteers have limited ability to find swimmers who are not staying in their designated areas.
- Concessions - there will be pizza, Chick-fil-A, chips, and drinks for sale. We can accept cash (exact change preferred), Venmo, and Apple Cash. Kona Ice will also be on site!
- Ensure your child cleans their space and gathers their belongings before leaving.
